JOB SUMMARY:
The Quality Improvement Specialist (hereafter referred to as QI Specialist) helps ensure the highest level of care and safety within DePaul's programs by auditing the delivery of quality services and best practices. This position monitors, evaluates, and identifies areas of improvement related to the welfare of those served and supports or facilitates health and safety initiatives at DePaul as assigned. The QI Specialist assists in auditing and inspecting case records to ensure quality and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:
The QI Specialist reports directly to the Director of Quality & Compliance.

- Conduct qualitative reviews of records, including any DePaul-approved home (hereafter collectively referred to as providers) and/or program, evaluating risk and liability, as well as the provision of services.
- Review records for compliance to prevent improper or ineffective service delivery and reduce potential harm or events
- Identify potential areas of compliance, vulnerability, risk, and training curriculum needs, and process improvements after completing audits
- Analyze audit findings and, in consultation with the PD, supervisors, and the Director of Quality & Compliance, develop internal quality improvement and corrective action plans and practices to resolve problematic issues. Provide general guidance and/or brainstorming on how to prevent or address similar situations.
- Utilize electronic records for data analysis and status of case activities, reports, and training completed by employees and providers, and develop related reports or charts
- Gather information for and may assist with investigations/root cause analysis of critical incidents as assigned and in conjunction with a Program Director and/or Director of Quality & Compliance
- Facilitate work groups and committees pertaining to quality improvement or health and safety as assigned

Knowledge of:
- Office and records administration techniques and procedures

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY:
A Bachelor's degree with a minimum of three years of experience in case management or quality and compliance in a human service field is required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described herein represent those an employee encounters while performing the position's essential functions. The employee regularly works in an office environment and occasionally in the field. Due to the nature of the work, the incumbent may be exposed to situations of a highly emotional nature; incumbents are expected to use verbal skills to resolve interpersonal situations to achieve desired results independently. Incumbents may be exposed to various living conditions and lifestyles. Work is generally completed regularly during weekdays; however, daily work hours may vary. Completion of job duties outside of normally scheduled hours may be required. Work is subject to frequent interruptions, and noise levels vary based on the work locations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The physical demands described herein are representative of those that an employee in this position must meet, with or without reasonable accommodations, to perform the essential functions successfully. Physical activities required are finger dexterity necessary to operate equipment used in the position, effective communication, and seeing or hearing verbal cues. Walking from one-third to two-thirds of the time, sitting from one-third to two-thirds of the time, standing from one-third to two-thirds of the time, bending from one-third to two-thirds of the time, stooping up to one-third of the time, lifting/pushing/pulling no more than ten pounds are required. When accessing various locations, the incumbent must climb stairs and ramps. This position requires driving approximately ten percent of the employee's working time to various locations. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
